"WHAT A LOVELY ACTIVITY TO DO ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON WITH MY KIDS. I HAVEN’T SEEN THEM SIT AND CONCENTRATE ON SOMETHING FOR SO LONG FOR SUCH A LONG TIME…THANK YOU."
Ignite Imaginations aims to make every Sheffield community a creative place.
We want to ignite imaginations and create connections.
We believe in taking people on a journey to unlock their imaginations through working with professional artists, using quality materials and experiencing innovative creative activities.
We believe the in value of process and the outcomes; we celebrate and showcase what is created in our workshops, but we also work though each creative stage together in collaboration with participant, artist and partner.
We work across the city with people of all ages and backgrounds where creativity is needed the most.
All our work is free for those taking part; we work in partnership with every project connecting with the organisations rooted in communities who can support and represent the needs of local people.
We believe our creative workshops and projects create a safe and equitable space to bring people together, increase confidence, develop new skills and explore and understand topics and subjects that matter to our communities.
We encourage and support talented creative people in Sheffield. We run programmes that identify talented makers and creatives who are underrepresented in the arts sector and provide training, support and access to career development.
We support and nurture artists and participants on their creative journey through our Progression Programme and Creative Community. We strive for our delivery and decision making to be representative of the people we work with and communities we serve.
We specialise in visual arts and creative writing projects and workshops; from weekly sessions for families in local libraries to intergenerational projects in care home settings. Our freelance artists are part of our family and receive a full induction, training and support to deliver quality creative experiences.
We have a staff team that coordinate all our projects, recruit and support our artists and ensure we are delivering meaningful, quality, safe and accessible projects by working closely with our partners and participants.
We work in communities that are underrepresented within the arts sector including but not exclusively to children facing economic deprivation, adults accessing services supporting their physical, learning or mental health needs, community groups representing and supporting individuals connected to economic status, ethnic background, faith, gender or connection to the community. If we can support a group, community or individual, who wouldn't traditionally get the opportunity, to create connections and ignite their imaginations we want to be there! See here our latest annual report and a summary of our partner and projects from the last year.
We have a programme of projects we seek to deliver and fundraise for each year. See here for more details. However we are always looking for exciting new ideas and partnerships- see below how you can get in touch.

We are always striving to make new connections and continue to develop our current ones.
We love creating projects in partnership; once we have dreamed up our project together we need to get the resources in which we can do in a number of ways:
We will quote for work if your organisation have an existing budget,
We will seek and apply for funding together,
We can fundraise ourselves and include you as a partner.
We are really open to new ideas and ways to reach into communities so please do get in touch.
