CHAIR OF THE BOARD
"My passion for creative education and expanding children’s experiences of and with the arts are what drive me. I’ve been a secondary school teacher for 25 years and continue to push for students to gain a fully rounded education. I endeavour to provide opportunities for partnerships between schools and artists and schools and creative arts organisations."

"I have recently joined the Board and have a working background in the voluntary and statutory sectors in Sheffield. During my working life I set up Sheffield Dementia Alliance and SE Sheffield Community Dementia Advice Service. Predominantly, my work has been around older adults. Working in partnership and collaboration with all stakeholders has been my approach to community development.
Since leaving paid employment my interest in art and creative writing has led me to be involved with Ignite Imaginations – an organisation whose values match my own. I look forward to getting involved."
I joined the trustees in early 2022 and have been a long-time admirer of Ignite’s work, both my art-mad kids have benefited from workshops from the Stoneface Gallery to Orchard Square. A trained journalist with stints in London, Bedford & Hull, I moved into PR with roles at Sheffield Hallam, Sheffield City Council and, currently, in change and engagement in the civil service. Outside of work I run, and run a podcast, in Sheffield.
I am passionate about engaging young people and families in Art & Design. I have worked in range of settings from museums and galleries, community groups, schools, colleges and University. I am the Recruitment Lead for the department of Art & Design at Sheffield Hallam University. I’ve recently joined the board of trustees for Ignite imagination to support the important work they do across the city.
"With a background in theatre and performance, I have spent the last decade in Sheffield working for various creative organisations in and around the city including Museums Sheffield, Sheffield Theatres and Art Sheffield. I am currently the Director of Sheffield Creative Guild. I joined the board in 2020 and hope to support the amazing work Ignite does in and around the city. Away from work, I love sewing, gardening and hanging around with my toddler."
I joined the trustees in late 2022 after coming across Ignite Imaginations.
My background is in teaching and lecturing. I am passionate about working with and for groups and communities who are often overlooked. I am a creator, grower and avid reader. Being part of Ignite will widen opportunities and enable people to explore their own creativity.
I've been a project professional for the past decade, and while I started in the arts and cultural world I made the move a few years ago into the health charity sector. I became a trustee for Ignite during my maternity leave and have been delighted to be able to bring my infant son along to meetings and events! I'm excited to combine my knowledge of the difference sectors to support Ignite to deliver projects which use art to improve people's lives
