Ignite Imaginations is recruiting:
We are currently looking for up to four freelance artists specifically for our current partnership project with Maya Productions https://mayaproductions.co.uk/;

We are seeking up to two artists with a visual arts background and two artists with a performing arts background. Our intention is for one visual (mixed media, textiles, ceramics, graphic design etc) and one performance artist (music, dance, spoken word, theatre etc) to work together on one or both of the projects mentioned. We understand the breadth of these genres and welcome artists, from a wide range of expertise, that feel they fall into either of these categories.
We will accept individual or collaborative applications and after successful delivery we hope the artists will continue onto our freelance artists pool (being offered training,

We are looking for someone with:
A high standard of creative skill and expertise
Outstanding workshop facilitation and community engagement skills
At least 1 years’ experience delivering workshops in a variety of community settings.
Experience of working with at least one of the target groups; Adults aged over 50 years and/or young people aged 14-25 years. We accept artists who may only have the experience working with one of the target groups.
Some experience of delivering workshops on zoom or other online platforms (we appreciate this may be very new to some artists and so minimal experience will be expected as we will provide support and training).
Artists that have lived experience of migration of their own, or from previous generations. We are specifically looking to work with less represented cultural groups within this recruitment drive.
Based in or around Sheffield with an understanding and experience of the city.
What we can offer:
Support from our staff team to ensure the smooth delivery and coordination of the project; from development of workshop delivery plans and liaison with partners to safeguarding and risk assessments procedures. We work alongside and with our artists to deliver professional projects with our communities. The Ignite staff team will be coordinating the project, working collaboratively throughout with Maya Productions and the successful artists.

To present the project and learning outcomes at Migration Matters Festival in June and potentially “Disrupt” Conference in July 2021 (pending results of our application for presentation).
£890 per artist per group.
(Includes: planning time, developing and putting together creativity packs for participants, 16 hours delivery of online workshops to one group, finalising any artistic outputs to be presented at Migration Matters Festival by the artists and participants.)
We are open to an artist working across both groups.
